Pathways Rehab was founded to address the gap in accessible, personalised care for individuals with neurological and complex physical disabilities on the South Coast.
Why Pathways Rehab ?
-
We understand that every person's path through their rehabilitation is unique. We focus on providing personalised, goal-focused therapy tailored to your individual needs - empowering you to regain independence, improve function, and enhance your quality of life.
-
Through education and self management strategies, we equip you with the tools to better understand and manage your condition. By doing so, we help reshape your rehabilitation pathway, giving you greater control and confidence over your life.
-
Our specific physiotherapy services are designed to stimulate and strengthen the brain’s neural pathways, promoting neuroplasticity, the brain’s ability to adapt, relearn and build new connections. This enhances your rehabilitation outcomes and supports lasting functional improvement.
-
We strive to facilitate community participation and promote accessibility, ensuring every individual has the opportunity to achieve their goals and get back to doing the things they enjoy. No goal is too big!
-
We connect the path between you, your family, and your healthcare team to ensure seamless, coordinated support. Recognising the challenges carers and families face in supporting someone with complex needs, we offer education and resources to help them navigate their role and provide the best possible care. Our goal is to bridge gaps between providers, promote integrated care, and highlight the vital role of physiotherapy in managing complex conditions.
Meet Kayla

Masters Degree in Physiotherapy - University of Technology, Sydney
APA Level 2 Neurological Physiotherapist
Born and bred in the town of Gundagai, Kayla moved to Wollongong in 2013 and hasn’t left the beach side since.
Whilst completing her university studies, Kayla worked as a support worker for individuals with disabilities. This sparked her passion and she elected to complete a placement at the Prince Of Wales Spinal Cord Injury Unit to develop her physiotherapy niche.
Throughout her physiotherapy career, Kayla has worked across various hospital acute, subacute and rehab settings in the Illawarra and Shoalhaven region, primarily upskilling in areas of neurology and rehabilitation. Kayla has also worked in a private rehab community setting and assumed a role as a senior physiotherapist, providing student clinical placements and establishing mentoring programs for junior staff members.
Kayla is a strong advocate for access for all to community participation. She is a National Classifier for Wheelchair Rugby and volunteers at Disability Surf Association Australia.
Kayla is dedicated to personal growth and professional development, taking part in regular training and courses to ensure she is advancing her skills. In 2024, Kayla travelled to England to gain experience from four of the leading rehabilitation facilities in the UK, learning about neurorobotics and the latest advancements in rehabilitation. She is excited to share her experience and contribute her expert knowledge in neurological physiotherapy on the South Coast.
